Published: 29 May 2018Title: Phase 3 - Water Restrictions / Fase 3 - WaterbeperkingsStatus: CAPE AGULHAS MUNICIPALITY PHASE 3 - WATER RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that in terms of Water By-Laws of 3 October 2005, Section 46, the Municipal Manager imposes the following water restrictions in Cape Agulhas Municipal Area from 9 February 2018 until further notice due to low rainfall and limited water sources. The current dam levels, supplying water to Cape Agulhas Municipality are nearing the 30% level. The following water restrictions are imposed: The new water restrictions are 20kl per household and 50kl per business per month. Any household or business exceeding the restriction will be liable to pay the approved higher tariffs applicable to their usage. Consumers are requested to manage their water usage within the restrictions. Please note: House owners and tenants are advised to read water meters daily to identify leakages speedily and to manage water usage effectively. For enquiries or if assistance is needed, please contact your local municipal offices. Water is a shared resource. Don’t use more than your share. Save water. Die volgende beperkings word ingestel: Die nuwe waterbeperkings is 20kl per huishouding en 50kl per besigheid per maand. Enige huishouding of besigheid wat die beperking oorskry, sal aanspreeklik wees vir die betaling van die goedgekeurde hoër tariewe wat op hulle gebruik van toepassing is. Verbruikers word versoek om hulle water gebruik te bestuur binne die beperking. Neem kennis: Dit is raadsaam vir elke inwoner om sy/haar watermeter daagliks te lees om sodoende moontlike lekkasies spoedig te identifiseer en om waterverbruik effektief te bestuur. SENIOR LAW ENFORCEMENT ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER: GD476

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4
  • Inspectors course – AACL or SPCA
  • Law Enforcement Certificate
  • Computer Literate, good report writing skills
  • Code 08 Drivers Licence
  • 3years work experience

     

FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspecting and investigating problem area’s
  • Educating and training public with regards to animal welfare;
  • Confiscating animals to take to veterinary surgeon for treatment or euthanasia
  • Prosecuting offenders, involving taking photographs, writing a statement, institute legal proceedings at local police station, attending and testifying in court cases
  • Instruct guides and train general public with regards to feeding, hygiene, inoculation, housing, sterilization and general living conditions of animals at school level by means of photo displays, lectures and videos to teach them the correct way to look after animals and to prevent unhygienic conditions and the spreading of contagious diseases and overpopulation.
  • Train and assists upcoming farmers w.r.t basic animal husbandry farming methods, involving feeding, diseases and treatment, accommodation, hygiene, breeding and inoculation to farm more effectively.
  • Co-operates with Nature Conservation and Sea Fisheries with regards to wildlife care, involving transfer of oil-polluted seabirds to San cub and wildlife to the Wild care Unit in Somerset West to remove, protect and save sea- and wildlife.
  • Inspections to abattoir to monitor prescribed humane slaughtering methods and dog parlours and private kennel facilities to ensure compliance with hygiene, equipment and feeding and general conditions and prescribe regulations with regards to structures.
  • Performs vector control involving prevention and control of contagious diseases e.g. mange, rabies etc. in conjunction with State Veterinary Services, prevention of flea and tick infestation to ensure a healthy environment.
  • Compiling weekly and monthly statistics to be submitted to the Protection Services Manager
  • Providing guidelines/ guidance to personnel on the application of procedures.
  • Implementing remedial measures/ corrective action to align performance and output against agreed standards.
  • Appraising performance levels, setting objectives and measuring accomplishment or establishing reasons for non-conformance
  • Instituting disciplinary action for non-conformance and serious breaches to terms and conditions of employment/codes of conduct
