Published: 29 May 2018Title: Phase 3 - Water Restrictions / Fase 3 - WaterbeperkingsStatus: CAPE AGULHAS MUNICIPALITY PHASE 3 - WATER RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that in terms of Water By-Laws of 3 October 2005, Section 46, the Municipal Manager imposes the following water restrictions in Cape Agulhas Municipal Area from 9 February 2018 until further notice due to low rainfall and limited water sources. The current dam levels, supplying water to Cape Agulhas Municipality are nearing the 30% level. The following water restrictions are imposed: The new water restrictions are 20kl per household and 50kl per business per month. Any household or business exceeding the restriction will be liable to pay the approved higher tariffs applicable to their usage. Consumers are requested to manage their water usage within the restrictions. Please note: House owners and tenants are advised to read water meters daily to identify leakages speedily and to manage water usage effectively. For enquiries or if assistance is needed, please contact your local municipal offices. Water is a shared resource. Don’t use more than your share. Save water. Die huidige damvlakke van die damme wat water aan Kaap Agulhas Munisipaliteit voorsien, is naby die 30% vlak. Die volgende beperkings word ingestel: Die nuwe waterbeperkings is 20kl per huishouding en 50kl per besigheid per maand. Enige huishouding of besigheid wat die beperking oorskry, sal aanspreeklik wees vir die betaling van die goedgekeurde hoër tariewe wat op hulle gebruik van toepassing is. Verbruikers word versoek om hulle water gebruik te bestuur binne die beperking. Neem kennis: Dit is raadsaam vir elke inwoner om sy/haar watermeter daagliks te lees om sodoende moontlike lekkasies spoedig te identifiseer en om waterverbruik effektief te bestuur. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12
  • An appropriate qualification in Economic Development,  Development planning,  Rural Development or Project Management
  • Computer Literacy
  • Code B Driver’s License
  • Proficient in 2 official languages of the Western Cape (read, write and speak)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Experience in funding proposal writing and business plans development
  • Project Management experience

DUTIES:

Comprehensive Rural Development Programme

  • Co-ordinate the CRDP Programme in co-operation with other spheres of government.

Enterprise development

  • Facilitate enterprise development (Co-operatives / Small Farmers / SMME’s) to enable them to participate in the main stream economy.
  • Mobilisation and Identification of funding and support sources for enterprise development
  • Development of business plans and funding proposals to enable enterprise development

LED Strategy implementation and development

  • Contribute to the compilation, review and implementation of the Municipality’s LED Strategy
  • Facilitation, Implementation, monitoring and evaluation of LED projects

Stakeholder liaison and engagement

  • Work in co-operation with stakeholders (private and government) to promote job creation, job retention and enterprise development within the Cape Agulhas Municipal Area
  • Co-ordinate appropriate Municipal Economic Development Forums where required and participate in local, regional and provincial economic development / rural development forums.

Communication and reporting

  • Reporting writing
  • Collection, maintenance and distribution of applicable statistics and information relating to economic development in the Cape Agulhas Municipal Area

 

 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THE POST:

  • Must be able to work overtime as and when required
  • Work under pressure.
